Etymologies: Bowls, Baskets, and Bodies

March 3 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Join local poet Audrey Gidman in an attempt to climb inside the etymologies of our bodies. With Kristin Chang’s poem “Etymology of Butch” as the vessel, we will explore the baskets and bowls of ourselves and, through the investigation of poetry and a single word, begin to unravel the lineages we carry in us. What is in your basket? How much of you is inside the bowl of your body?

Please plan to arrive early because special guest poet Katherine Ferrier will be joining us from 3-5pm to write poems on the spot for us on her dreamy blue Royal typewriter! Give her a word (or phrase or topic) and she’ll make that magic happen. We’ll also have a hot kettle, tea, and snacks to get cozy before we settle in for Audrey’s workshop!
