Close-Reading Workshop with Noelle Dubay

  • Twice Sold Tales 155 Main Street Farmington, ME USA (map)

Are you considering sending a diary entry to our open call and wanting to spend more time with our theme poem? Curious about the process of close-reading? Or maybe looking for a place to gather in shared wonder on an autumn evening? We are extremely lucky to welcome Noelle Dubay to facilitate a close-reading workshop of Victoria Chang’s “Passage” on Thursday, November 13 from 6-7pm at Twice Sold Tales in Farmington, ME.

In this close-reading workshop, we'll briefly learn about the practice and process of close reading before turning our attention to Victoria Chang's "Passage." Over the course of an hour, we'll examine the poem's sounds, structures, tensions, and resolutions, and we'll consider multiple levels of possible meaning. This process will focus our minds, individually and collectively, and slowly open up the poem.

We hope you’ll join us! This event is free and open to the public. No registration required.
